Eric T. Brooker, O.D.

Dr. Eric T. Brooker was born and raised in Las Vegas. He graduated from Bishop Gorman High School and received a combined academic and athletic scholarship to play soccer at Oregon State University. After suffering a leg injury during a game, Eric transferred to the University of Nevada Reno, where he graduated with honors in the field of Health Care Sciences. He then went on to pursue his passion for vision at the Southern California College of Optometry where he graduated with honors at the top of his class. Dr. Brooker has focused his career and studies on LASIK, Ocular disease and dry eyes. He has managed hundreds of patients before and after they have underwent LASIK surgery to correct their vision. Dr. Brooker has also traveled around the world doing research and teaching novel techniques for refractive and corneal surgery in cities such as: Dubai, Kansas City, Ann Arbor, Memphis, Irvine, Argentina, Budapest, Austria and Mexico City. As an expert in the field of laser vision correction Dr. Brooker also lectures to his peers on the advances in technology. After several years in the field, Dr. Brooker has recently opened his own practice(Advantage Family Optical) offering patients the highest technologies in ocular science and the latest fashions in eyewear. Advantage Family Optical caters to the entire family and strives to be the number one eye care provider in our area.



Michael Mayer, O.D.

Dr. Michael Mayer was raised in Canistota, SD. He graduated from Canistota High School in 1994 and later that fall enrolled at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. In May of 1998, Dr. Mayer graduated, Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. In August of 2000 he enrolled at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA.

In optometry school, Dr. Mayer was the recipient of the Dr. Herbert McCracken Dixon Scholarship, the Alumni Association of SCCO Endowed Scholarship, the Raeder Midwest Memorial Scholarship, and the Chela Financial Scholarship. He was also a 4-year member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. He interned at the Omaha Eye and Laser Institute in Omaha, NE; the Sioux San Indian Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD; and the Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group in San Diego, CA gaining valuable experience in glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathies, keratoconus, laser vision and cataract management and also various types of anterior segment eye conditions.

Dr. Mayer graduated, Cum Laude, with the Doctor of Optometry degree in May of 2004. Later that June, he married his wife, Christina, whom he met in optometry school and is also an optometrist. The couple practiced in Las Vegas, NV for 2 years under a variety of optometric settings and in April of 2006, moved to Sioux Falls, SD and worked in an ocular disease orientated practice. There Dr. Mayer was a clinical sub-investigator for ophthalmic studies which included a Bausch and Lomb Orthokeratology Study, Ciba Vision Solution Study, and Ciba Vision Toric Contact Lens Study. In August 2007, Dr. Mayer and his wife relocated back to Las Vegas. He joined the Advantage Family Optical team in April 2008 and is excited to continue to provide exceptional optometric care to his patients.

Dr. Mayer and his wife recently welcomed their first child, Alexis, to the world in February 2008. Dr Mayer enjoys spending time with his new daughter, family, playing golf, working out and is a big college football fan.



Dave Brooker

Dave T. Brooker is the Optician and Office Manager at Advantage Family Optical. He has lived in Las Vegas for 28 years and continues his on-going training to remain one of Las Vegas finest Opticians. Dave enjoys his position most when his customers are happy. He enjoys watching their faces light up with delight as he customizes a fit and style specifically for each one of his customers. To Dave, excellent customer service is mandatory, and he works hard to choose the best frames in the latest styles and designs for all of our clients. "It's all about satisfying the needs and wants of every patient and addressing all questions and concerns," Dave says. He not only wants to provide efficient service; he wants to build friendships. "Our patients are our friends and our family, and we have a BIG family! Advantage Family Optical provides a very fun and supportive atmosphere, and I LOVE IT!" Dave can do for you what he does for many, so don't be shy, ask him for your personalized style and fitting session at your next appointment.



Susan Aros

Susan L Aros is a Front Desk Volunteer at Advantage Family Optical. Susan is dedicated to Advantage Family Optical and enjoys her daily interactions with all of the staff, and the entire Las Vegas Community. When you call our office, most likely you will first encounter Susan, and her happy, bubbly, caring attitude encases the Advantage Family Optical motto. We are here for you! With Susan, the customer always comes first, and she works hard to answer all customer questions and provide prompt and comprehensive customer service. Susan's first and best experience at Advantage Family Optical, was having the availability to provide her enthusiasm and support for everyone at Advantage Family Optical. It may be possible to smell the sweet aroma of freshly baked cookies through the phone when you call to make your appointments with Susan. She frequently bakes, or provides refreshments along with a wealth of information about optometry and every aspect of life, as you wait for appointment, or eyeglass fitting. "To me happiness is in other people's happiness. I just want to make you happy!" says Susan. That is not an understatement; her drive is in the anticipation of new customers and knowing that customers are happy and excited to come to Advantage Family Optical.
